Grant Contract Signing Ceremony for the
Project for Improving Health Facilities in Ntchisi District (Phase II)

  On 4th March 2014, His Excellency Shuichiro Nishioka, the Ambassador of Japan to Malawi and Ms. Hiroko Yabusaki, Project Manager for World Vision Japan signed a grant contract amounting to US$663, 610 (about MK270, 089, 270 at present value). The grant is for the implementation of the Project for Improving Health Facilities in Ntchisi District (Phase II).

   

 The grant will facilitate construction of three maternity guardian shelters at Khuwi, Mndinda and Mzandu Health Centres and two boreholes at Khuwi and Mndinda Health Centres. It complements the first phase of the project which constructed two maternity wings at Khuwi and Mndinda Health Centres in the district.

  

  By providing improved maternal health facilities, the project is expected to contribute towards improving the health status of women of child bearing age and children under the age of two in Ntchisi District. The occasion was graced by Honourable Chikumbutso Hiwa, M.P., and Deputy Minister of Health.
